In a village surrounded by thick forests and clear streams, the animals lived in harmony. Every season, they held a feast, where everyone contributed and shared food. However, there was a tradition: no one could eat until everyone had brought their dish to the table.

Anansi the Spider loved these feasts but was often too lazy to prepare his dish on time. One summer, he had an idea. Instead of cooking, he’d hide away and eat his food early, then return when everyone else’s dishes were laid out.

On the day of the feast, Anansi cooked a delicious soup and hid in the forest to enjoy it. Hours later, he returned to the village, his belly full, ready to feast again. But to his surprise, no dishes were on the table.

“What’s happening?” Anansi asked.

Lion, the leader, replied, “We were waiting for you. The feast isn’t just about food, but about coming together as a community.”

Anansi felt ashamed. He realized that by being selfish and breaking the tradition, he had denied everyone a chance to enjoy the communal meal. He confessed and apologized, promising never to repeat his mistake.

From that day, Anansi not only prepared his dish on time but also helped others with theirs. He learned that traditions and rules often have deeper meanings and are essential for the harmony of a community.

And so, the animals feasted together, season after season, cherishing the unity and lessons that came with each gathering.

Moral: True community is built on selflessness and understanding the value of togetherness.
