Deep in the African jungles, there was a songbird named Kofi, whose melodies were the sweetest. Every dawn, the forest would wake up to his enchanting tunes. Anansi, ever so mischievous, was jealous of the attention Kofi received. So, he conjured a plan.

He approached Kofi with a proposition. “Kofi,” he began smoothly, “Your voice is undoubtedly the best. But have you wondered how it feels to listen to your own songs as others do? I can grant you the experience, but only if you lend me your voice for a day.”

Intrigued and slightly flattered, Kofi agreed. The next morning, Anansi sang in Kofi’s voice, gathering admiration from all corners. Kofi, now voiceless, sat silently, understanding the joy his songs brought to others.

However, as dusk approached, Anansi, basking in the day’s praises, didn’t want to return the voice. But Kofi had made friends with the winds. They swooped down and snatched Anansi, twirling him until he released Kofi’s voice from his grasp.

From that day, Kofi sang louder and more beautifully, cherishing his gift even more. Anansi, on the other hand, learned that stealing joy from others only diminishes one’s own.

Moral: Cherish your own gifts and never covet another’s, for true joy comes from authenticity and gratitude.
